Nordic Rowing Federation Congress 2021 has decided on the following dates and venues for 2022:
March 19, 2022 Denmark, Virtual, Nordic Indoor Virtual Championship
June 18-19,2022 Finland, Tampere, Open Senior + Junior Flatwater Championship
August 6-7, 2022 Sweden, Helsingborg, Open Nordic Coastal Championship

Nordic Rowing Federation is hosting the bi-annual Ordinary Congress on October 8-9, 2021 for all of its member Federations. The Congress will take place in Malmoe, Sweden.

Unfortunately the Nordic Rowing Federation has to announce that the upcoming 2021 Open Nordic Junior Championship in Stockholm Sweden June 19 and 20 has been cancelled due to the uncertain Covid-19 situation in the Nordic countries. This is a uniform decision made by all the Nordic member federation.
Nordic Rowing Federation is now postponing the regatta to 2022.
The first 2021 Open Nordic Virtual Indoor Rowing Championship turned out as a huge success. Almost 600 participant coming from 19 countries in Europa, Canada, USA and Pakistan made it a succesful event. The organizers Danish Rowing Federation and Holstebro Rowing Club had set the stage for a professional event.

Open Nordic Coastal Rowing Championships as a new event under Nordic Rowing Federation will be held in Helsingborg, Sweden on July 31 and August 1, 2021.

“However, in light of the impact of the COVID19 pandemic and the need to reduce costs and complexity for Paris 2024 specifically highlighted by IOC Executive Board, the Commission concluded that no new disciplines could be added across any sport. Therefore, for Paris 2024, the Commission proposed to continue with the existing rowing programme of 14 events.
In view of Los Angeles 2028, the Olympic Programme Commission and the IOC Executive Board highlighted how the beach nature of the Coastal Rowing events could represent a very strong fit with the vision and venue landscape of Los Angeles and, following the definition of the LA2028 Sport Programme due in 2021, look forward to positively considering the inclusion of Coastal Rowing in the event programme for Los Angeles 2028.”
